Bio Sketch

Born in Detroit, Michigan, Peter Newton is a poet, artist and editor. His writings have appeared in a variety of print and online journals and anthologies, garnering several prizes and commendations in recent years. He is the author of What We Find, a book of haiku from Imaginary Press, 2011. A collection of his haibun entitled Joy Ride, is due out in 2013. He co-edits the online journal Tinywords.   1. The disruption of a semantic flow is thematically and psychologically effective, and Peter's style of kire (cutting) is close to what Professor Hasegawa Kai articulates in his videoed lecture (Haiku Cosmos 2): a cut with psychological ma.

    And this haiku could be read as a poetic rendering of the thematic motif explored in "Poetry,Language, Thought" by Martin Heidegger.
