Simon
Hanson lives in sub-tropical Queensland, Australia where he enjoys his
proximity to the Pacific Ocean and areas of rainforest. He is a
committee member of the Australian Haiku Society and is published in various journals and anthologies.
The comparison (or analogy) between ashes' stories of fire and life stories conveyed through family photos is visually and emotionally effective, but I wonder if the following version might work better in terms of tanka poetics:
