Bio Sketch

Simon Hanson lives in sub-tropical Queensland, Australia where he enjoys his proximity to the Pacific Ocean and areas of rainforest.  He is a committee member of the Australian Haiku Society and is published in various journals and anthologies.

  1. Structured into five poetic phrases (ku) and two parts, the implied contrasts (city center vs family farm; phone conversation vs bellow of cows; ...) between the upper and lower verses are emotionally effective, sparking the reader's reflection on where one's home/heart is.
