rain falls
from a clear blue sky
he asks what I want
to hear first - the good news
or the bad

Bio Sketch
Joanne
Morcom is a social worker and poet who lives in Calgary, Alberta,
Canada, with four poetry collections to her credit. Her work also
appears in poetry anthologies and journals.
Thematically and emotionally speaking, the opening image ("rain falls"/from a "clear blue sky") resonates well with the closing question ("to hear first - the good news/or the bad"). And Joanne's use of a midline break ("-") is effective, highlighting this relatable daily choice in life -- to hear first - the good news/or the bad.
