Born in Athens, Greece, Stella Pierides now divides her time between Neusäß, Germany and London, England. In her heart, she lives somewhere on the Aegean coast. L1 successfully sets the scenic/emotive context for the poem while L2 subtly conveys the implied speaker's state of mood. Stella's skillful use of ynaesthesia makes this haiku emotionally effective.
