Cynthia
Gallaher is the author of three collections of poems and
two chapbooks. The Chicago Public Library lists her among its "Top 10
Requested Chicago Poets." She has started writing haiku over the last
few years and frequents Lee Gurga's Chicago Haiku Study Group, as well
as haiku workshops, retreats and festivals that take place at Foundry
Books in Mineral Point, Wisconsin.
L 1 establishes the thematic context of the poem while Ls 2&3 enhance the tone and mood, and Cynthia's well-chose verb adds emotional weight to the poem.
