Bio Sketch

Thomas Martin was raised on a farm in the Piedmont of North Carolina and graduated from the University of North Carolina.He has been writing poetry since his teen years, though haiku and tanka only since 2000.  He lives with his beautiful spouse, Joyce, in Beaverton, OR, USA

  1. The upper verse establishes the tone and mood while the lower verse creates a middle-of-the-story, allowing the reader to enter into the poem and wonder the whys of not going home.
