Julie Warther is the author of What Was Here
(Folded Word Press 2015) and serves as the Midwest Regional Coordinator
for the Haiku Society of America. Julie was instrumental in the
creation of the Forest Haiku Walk, a path of thirty stones featuring haiku by Midwest poets.
The unexpected yet thematically and visually significant last line broadens the reader's horizon, and makes its juxtaposition/contrast with a hole (to see through) incisively sharp, effectively opening up an interpretative space for the reader's imagination.
