Kishor Matte is new to short form poetry. He has published one poem in Jar of Stars and five haiku on NeverEnding Story. Some of his poems were posted on Twitter. He also writes short poems in both Hindi and Marathi.
Enhanced by the effective use of "..." a longer pause, L1 sets the tone and mood of this extremely short/minimalist haiku (7 words and 9 syllables) while Ls 2&3 effectively put a sharp focus, thematic and emotional, on "pain"

One of the possible answers is hinted at in the following famous Zen haiku:
