Bio Sketch

Patricia Prime is the co-editor of Kokako, reviews/interviews editor of Haibun Today and writes reviews for Takahe and for several Indian journals. She recently completed an interview on the history of Kokako to be published in Takahe and an interview with an Indian editor who is also considering a collection of her poems for publication

  1. Ls 1&2 depict an unusual and unpleasant scene while the modifier, "long," in L3 enhances the tone and mood of this beach haiku littered with the shells of sea-snails (venomous and capable of "stinging" humans).

    On a second reading, littered sea-snail shells, when evaluated in the thematic context of ocean pollution, effectively carry symbolic significance.
