Bio Sketch

Kokuu Andy McLellan is a haiku poet and Soto Zen novice priest living in Canterbury, UK.  He spends a lot of time drinking tea and has three children and a PhD in plant biology.

  1. Kokuu's shasei haiku is structured with an emotional undercurrent that runs through visually evocative and symbolically rich imagery of different moons reflected in the puddles of various sizes on the ill-maintained street(s) on a rainy night.

    And technically speaking, it might be interesting to do a comparative reading of my haiku below:

    American dream
    in each shop window
    a different moon
