S. Greene lives with her husband in Poughkeepsie, New York. A number
of her poems have been published in various tanka journals and tanka
anthologies. She works as a Senior Accountant for an insurance company.
This allusive tanka is well framed by the thematically and emotionally dialectical phrases: "for love" .... "cheating on" my friend.
ReplyDeleteIt's a well-crated, "middle-of-the-story" tanka, and with their experiences, lived or secondhand (one might get by watching movies or reading novels, such as Anna Karenina, to which the upper verse alludes), the readers can fill in the narrative gap between what's said and what's left said.
