Bio Sketch
Ken Sawitri was born in Blora, Central Java, Indonesia, and completed her degree in psychology at the Universitas Indonesia. She was the Psychology & Education editor of Ayahbunda (1995-1998). She dedicated her haiku for her motherland in Listen The Spice Whispers, haiku from Indonesian archipelago, and recorded her journey in the haiku posted at http://thisissawitri.blogspot.com
Thematically and emotionally speaking, the explosive power of Ken's poignant haiku is effectively enhanced by the pace of a one-liner and the well-chosen verb.
