Bio Sketch

Tony Boehle was born in 1983 in Rochlitz, Germany. Currently he lives in Chemnitz, Germany and works as a chemist. Since 2012 he has been writing haiku, tanka, and tanka prose, and is the editor of Germany’s first tanka journal, Einunddreissig

  1. The theme of national identity in Tony's sociopolitically conscious tanka is effectively conveyed in a reflectively ironic tone through the unthinkable and seemingly impossible collocation of these two symbolically rich and culturally significant names, "Beethoven" and "Dachau"
