Bio Sketch

Susan Mary Wade has been published in International Tanka, Gusts, Ribbons and many other magazines. Her work has been anthologized and she has received awards in the 6th, 7th and 8th International Tanka Competitions in Japan and The Mt. Fuji Tanka Awards, 2019.

  1. The upper verse sets the theme and emotional context while the lower verse, which alludes to Greek mythology of the young Narcissus, adds psychological depth and symbolic significance to the tanka,
