Bio Sketch

Michele L. Harvey is a professional landscape painter living in New York. Her year is divided between rural  central NY and New York City, providing a lively contrast. The turn, thematic and emotional, in the lower verse makes attentive readers re-think the issue of "free to choose" (articulated in the upper verse) in a "committed relationship, an interpersonal relationship based upon a mutually agreed-upon commitment to one another involving love, trust, honesty, openness, or some other behavior."

    There are different readings of this "sudden enlightenment" described in the lower verse of Michele's relationship tanka written in/for a consumer oriented society.
