One Man's Maple Moon: Morning Sun Tanka by Michael Dylan Welch

English Original

morning sun
warming our sheets ...
for a moment
as you slide your body down,
your nipple in my navel

Footsteps in the Fog, 1994

Michael Dylan Welch

  1. Michael's tanka effectively builds, line/ku, poetic phrase by line/ku, poetic phrase, to an unexpected yet visually and emotionally evocative ending that reveals the theme of spousal sensuality.
