Bio Sketch

Born in Detroit, Michigan, Peter Newton is a poet, artist and editor. H is writings have appeared in a variety of print and online journals and anthologies, garnering several prizes and commendations in recent years. He is the author of What We Find, a book of haiku from Imaginary Press, 2011. A collection of his haibun entitled Joy Ride, is due out in 2013. He co-edits the online journal Tinywords.   1. In Peter's well-crafted shasei haiku, L3 successfully shifts the thematic focus from the objective description of a 'tragic event' portrayed in Ls 1&2 to a metaphysical (mainly existential) question, which stirs the reader's emotions and reflection.
