Bio Sketch

Angelee Deodhar of Chandigarh (India) is an eye surgeon by profession as well as a haiku poet, translator, and artist. Her haiku/haiga have been published internationally .She does not maintain her own website.To promote haiku in India, she has translated six books of haiku from English to Hindi.

  1. Angelee's midline break syntactically, structurally, visually, and thematically forms a contrasting relationship between two parts of the poem that makes the reader experiencing a blissful moment of satori.

    A good example of the effective use of a midline break.

  2. On a second reading, the poem takes on a metaphoric meaning. And it reminds me of the following haiku by Peggy Willis Lyles:

    lights out
    ... the firefly
    inside
