Shloka
Shankar is a freelance writer residing in India. Her work appears in
over two dozen international anthologies. Her haiku, haiga and tanka
have appeared in numerous print and online journals. She is also the
editor of the literary and arts journal, Sonic Boom.
Technically speaking, there is a "scent link" (in Basho's sense of the phrase) subtly established between the two parts -- "origami" moon (man-made crescent moon) and "many ..tucked(folded) ..." -- of the poem, and emotionally speaking, the thematic shift in Ls 2&3 makes this poem effectively poignant.
