Bio Sketch

  1. The resonant juxtaposition (of the "hearse behind the hospital" and "afternoon shadows")and the understated tone effectively enhance the emotionally suggestive power of the poem. And on a second reading, L3, especially the concluding word, successfully carries symbolic significance.
