Bio Sketch
Irish
Haiku Society (IHS) member Marion Clarke is a writer and artist from
Northern Ireland. In 2015 she was winner of the Financial Times ‘Poet in
the City’ haiku competition and runner up in the IHS International
Haiku Competition. In 2014 she was shortlisted for a Touchstone Award
for Individual Poems and was a Sakura award recipient in the Vancouver
Cherry Blossom Festival contest 2012. A selection of her haiku is
featured in two national collections of haiku from Ireland, Between the Leaves and Bamboo Dreams. Marion’s poetry and artwork can be found at http://seaviewwarrenpoint.wordpress.com
Combined with the zoom-in technique, the visually and auditorily resonant juxtaposition in this cinematic haiku effectively conveys a sense of gloomy sadness.
