Bio Sketch
Marion Clarke is from the east coast of Northern Ireland. Growing up surrounded by the scenic shores of Carlingford Lough, the Mourne Mountains and Kilbroney Forest Park, she was destined to write haiku.
Unlike other "more serious" haiku about the pandemic, the contrasts, thematic, emotional, and tonal, between the two parts of Marion's are freshly interesting. The postman's whistle reveals something different about the lockdown announced in L1.
ReplyDeleteMaybe a shorter one called "circuit-breaker" (strict yet shorter lockdown designed to reverse the tide of the pandemic).
My haiku below could be read as a sequel to Marion's:
Deletelockdown lifted
a grey-haired couple hug
and kiss the breeze
Frameless Sky, 14 2021
My haiku below could be read as a sequel to mine above:
Deletelockdown lifted
my shadow and I walk the moon
to the bar

Thank you for featuring my poem, Chen-ou.
DeleteI enjoyed your two very much. Thanks for sharing.
