Bio Sketch

An avid practitioner of the Japanese short forms of poetry, Praniti Gulyani aspires to become a full time writer when she grows up. She has published a print collection of haiku, and an ebook of haibun, both of which have been reviewed by world renowned haiku poets.

Enhanced by the effective use pf a pivot, "between my thoughts" (the speaker's inner world), the visually and emotionally evocative and symbolically rich images of "winter twilight" and the "patch fog" ( the natural/physical world) makes this "mood haiku" work effectively on two levels, literal and figurative.

    And it might be interesting to do a comparative reading of my dementia haiku about my father:

    Father slipping
    through the cracks in words ...
    patchy fog
