Bio Sketch
Dorothy McLaughlin's poems has been inspired by her husband, daughter, son, and grandsons, her native Massachusetts, forty-five years in Somerset, New Jersey, her interest in history and mythology, and teaching. Her haiku has appeared in bottle rockets, Frogpond, Modern Haiku, tinywords, South by Southeast, and other journals and anthologies.
L2, "coat hangers," in L1, "guest" room closet, functions like a synecdoche for the N's social relationships, and L3, "long empty," reveals the quality/strength of these relationships.
ReplyDeleteA fine, understated mood haiku about loneliness.
