Guy Simser: A Gusts tanka journal Selection Committee member since 2006, Guy has written Japanese form poems since 1980, including his five years in Tokyo (Canadian Embassy).   1. There is a simile subtly established between the two parts of the poem, and on a second reading, L1 carries symbolic significance.
