Bio Sketch

Elaine Andre lives in Washington State. She has designed and fabricated fine jewelry, yachts, textiles, and paints nanga sumi-e (exhibiting internationally). She considers haiku ideal for expressing a spiritual journey. Recently, she co-edited the anthology, In One Breath: a Haiku moment, wrote its introduction, and contributed verses.

L2, watching the "half & half" swirl, effectively provides a scent link (in Basho's sense of the phrase) to L1, equinox (the time or date,twice each year, at which the sun crosses the celestial equator, when "day and night are of equal length"). And on the second read, this poem could be read as a mood haiku.
