Bio Sketch
Besides
writing haiku, Debra Fox enjoys writing short stories and essays, some
of which have been accepted for publication. She is a lawyer and
director of an adoption agency. In her spare time she loves to dance.
She lives just outside Philadelphia with her family.
The thematically resonant juxtaposition (of "kindergarten" and "first seedlings") and the symbolically rich phrase, "first seedlings," lift the poem up a notch, and on a second reading, there is an implied simile established between the two parts of the poem.
ReplyDeleteA moment of wonder is keenly captured in this heartwarming haiku.
