Bio Sketch

A native of Montreal, Leslie Bamford’s writing has been recognized in literary competitions and publications across multiple genres in Canada and the United States.  Retired, she lives in Waterloo, Ontario where she enjoys writing poetry in her head while outside appreciating nature with her frisky dog.

  1. Leslie's tanka effectively builds poetic phrase (ku)/line by poetic phrase (ku)/line to an unexpected yet thematically significant and emotionally powerful ending. The shift/twist in L5 reminds me of the following popular saying:

    A story told is a life lived.
