Bio Sketch

Kat Lehmann is the author of Moon Full of Moons (Peaceful Daily, 2015), winner of the 2016 Royal Dragonfly Book Award (Poetry). Her poems have been published in twenty-five journals and anthologies. She is a research scientist and does her best writing after the children go to bed.

Combined with the quick pace of a one-liner, the image of the toddler beating the drums in the rainstorm is striking and thought-provoking, and it might prefigure something sociopolitically significant, reminding me of the iconic image of Oskar beating his tin drum and screaming in Günter Grass's famous novel, "The Tin Drum."
