Bio Sketch

Elliot Nicely is the author of two chapbooks: The Black Between Stars (Crisis Chronicles Press, 2017) and Tangled Shadows: Senryu and Haiku (Rosenberry Books, 2013). He resides in Lakewood, Ohio in the United States.

The juxtaposition of "might-have-been" (past possibility that no longer applies) and the symbolically rich image of shadows becoming one and parting is visually and emotionally resonant, and on second reading, L3 (shadows parting) effectively prefigures a promising future for the speaker and his/her friend/loved one.
