Bio Sketch
   
Brendon Kent lives in Botley, an old countryside village in Southern England (circa 890 A.D.) Born in the late 50's he has been writing poetry for many years preferring the 'short forms'. Brendon's haiku/senryu are published worldwide in many leading books and journals. He is a member of the British Haiku Society.

  1. L1, custody "battle," sets the theme and tone while L3, "bullet" points, effectively provides a "scent link" (in Basho's sense of the phrase), adding poignancy to the haiku.

    Below is my divorce court haiku, which I think could be read as a prequel to Kent's custody battle haiku:

    divorce court ...
    the little boy stares
    at the ceiling fan
