Bio Sketch

Marion Clarke is from the east coast of Northern Ireland. Growing up surrounded by the scenic shores of Carlingford Lough, the Mourne Mountains and Kilbroney Forest Park,  she was destined to write haiku.

  1. Marion's unusual birthday haiku, written from frustration ("falling/ for another scam"), tackles/faces the elderly scam issue head-on in this tech-enhanced age of fraud. The contrasts, thematic and emotional, between L1 and Ls 2&3 are sad yet poignantly effective.
