Bio Sketch

Veronika Zora Novak resides in Toronto, Canada.  She studied Medical Office Administration at George Brown College and graduated with honours in 1999.  She has been writing haiku and tanka since 2012 and has been published in acclaimed journals such as Under the BashõChrysathemum, Failed Haiku, HedgerowPrune Juice, Bleached Butterfly and many others.

  1. L1 sets the scene and mood while unexpected yet thematically significant and emotionally evocative L3 makes this haiku fresh and effective.

    Within such a short speace of 5 words and 8 syllables, this haiku is infused with spiritual depth.

    And it might be interesting to do a thematic comparison reading of the following haiku:
