Bio Sketch

Tsanka Shishkova has a Ph.D. in Computer Science. Now retired, she works as a part-time researcher. She has published haiku, senryu, and haiga in numerous journals and has been selected to be one of the Euro Top 100 Most Creative Haiku Authors for 7 years now. She is a member of the Bulgarian Haiku Union.

  1. The twist in L3 turns this seemingly traditional/natural haiku, as implied from its L1&2, into a timely and sociopolitically conscious haiku, which is highly relevant to our life in this broken world.

    This is a fine example of effectively using a twist to enhnace the visually and emotionaly suggestive power of a haiku.

    1. FYI: The star light effect described in Ls 2&3 is most likely created by a cluster bomb.

      "A basic cluster bomb consists of a hollow shell and then two to more than 2,000 submunitions or bomblets contained within it. Some types are dispensers that are designed to be retained by the aircraft after releasing their munitions."
