Bio Sketch

Jo Balistreri continues to write haiku, thinks of it as life flow--trying to live in the present makes everything new everyday. She enjoys that  focus, and the challenge of trying to write to the heart of what's seen, losing herself in the process.

  1. Enhanced by the quick pace of one-line format, a change in color (from silver to black) is vividly depicted in this nature-in-the-moment imagistic haiku.

And it might be interesting to do a thematic and technical comparison reading of the following haiku:

    late afternoon
    mangrove to mangrove
    into bridges of light
