Bio Sketch
Hazel Hall is a widely published Australian poet and musicologist. Her haiku collections are Eggshell Sky (HD Press, 2017), Step by Step (Picaro Poets 2019) and Severed Web (Picaro Poets, 2020). She has also published a tanka collection Moonlight Over the Siding (Interactive Press, 2019).
Juxtaposed with visually evocative and symbolically rich "L1 (with two meanings": 1 "a promising situation which comes to nothing" and "a transient light that precedes the rising of the sun by about an hour"), Ls 2&3 work well on two levels, literal and symbolic.
ReplyDeleteOne important question remains unanswered: I empty myself/L2 "of what." An interpretative space for the reader to fill in with his/her own story/experience.
And it might be interesting to do a thematic comparison reading of my haiku below:
