Bio Sketch

Marion Clarke is from the east coast of Northern Ireland. Growing up surrounded by the scenic shores of Carlingford Lough, the Mourne Mountains and Kilbroney Forest Park,  she was destined to write haiku.

  1. L1 sets the scene and mood while unexpected yet visually and emotionally evocative L3 makes this "snow haiku" fresh and meditatively effective: the N is "sound-bathing" in a world of one color.

    And it might be interesting to do a thematic comparison reading of the following haiku:

    winter solitude ---
    a world of one color
    the sound of wind
