Bio Sketch
Ling Ge is an immigrant author based in Toronto, Canada. She is the author of the chapbook, Snow Flowers (Anstruther Press, 2025).
L1, “after the funeral,” situates the haiku in aftermath rather than event, and the punctuation,"...," creates a longer pause that holds grief without naming it.
ReplyDeleteIn Ls 2&3, “the sound / of snowfall” is a subtle paradox. Snowfall is almost soundless; naming its “sound” draws attention to near-silence "between us" in L2, which implies that two persons share loss but not necessarily share words, comfort, or understanding.
The ritual is over; what remains is "relational and inward."
