Bio Sketch
Cynthia Rowe is Past President: Australian Haiku Society; Editor: Haiku Xpressions;
Past President: Eastern Suburbs Branch FAW NSW. A University of
Melbourne graduate in French and Philosophy, she was awarded a Diplôme
Approfondi de Langue Française by the French Ministry of Education. She
has published seven novels, poetry collections Driftwood and Floating Nest (winner of the SWW Book Awards 2016).
The visually and emotionally resonant juxtaposition makes this multi-sensory haiku effective, and on a second reading, "thunderclouds" and "lightning" effectively carry symbolic significance.
