Keitha
Keyes lives in Sydney, Australia in a small house decorated with ship
models, antique irons and trivets. And a cocker spaniel. Her retirement
would be very empty without the lure of writing tanka, haiku, cherita
and other poetry.
Keitha's tanka effectively builds, line by line, to a thematically significant and emotionally powerful ending that reveals the theme of intimate partner/domestic violence. And the thematic and emotional shift from the physical violence to the verbal attack/abuse/revenge is sharply poignant.
