Hanson lives in sub-tropical Queensland, Australia where he enjoys his
proximity to the Pacific Ocean and areas of rainforest. He is a
committee member of the Australian Haiku Society and is published in
various journals and anthologies.
L1 sets the setting while imagistic Ls 2&3, enhanced by a fine choice of verb, make this "spring" haiku visually and emotionally effective, and the unexpected yet evocatively fresh last line successfully lifts the haiku up a notch.
