  1. L1 (Hiroshima Dome, A-Bomb Dome) sets the scene and emotional context while the visually and emotionally evocative image of Ls 2&3 effectively symbolizes hope and peace for future generations.

    Note: Sites in or near the Hiroshima Memorial Peace Park constantly draw activists. In the annual "wings of peace" demonstration, Japanese peace activists float dove-shaped balloons before the gutted A-Bomb Dome.
