Bio Sketch

Angiola Inglese is a retired math teacher who has been keen on haiku for some years. She started reading classical authors, attracted by the brevity and rhythm of the verse; an image that runs out in seventeen syllables was a perfect thing for me. Lately, she has started to appreciate haiku written in English, synthetic and modern styles.

  1. The jux. of "far" thunder and "how long without hearing" a reproach is visually, auditorily and emotionally effective, and the phrase,"how long," not only conveys this lingering fear of being scolded, but also adds psychological depth to the haiku.
