Bio Sketch

An avid practitioner of the Japanese short forms of poetry, Praniti Gulyani aspires to become a full time writer when she grows up. She has published a print collection of haiku, and an ebook of haibun, both of which have been reviewed by world renowned haiku poets.

Praniti's tanka effectively builds, poetic phrase (ku)/line by poetic phrase (ku)/line to an unexpected yet thematically significant and emotionally powerful ending that reveals the theme of identification, Ls 4&5 (in relation to the relationship with one's significant other manifested in the form of an old letter, in L2).

    And Ls 1&3 add emotional weight and psychological depth to the tanka.
