The juxtaposition of the will/wisdom of Mother Nature (as embodied in Ls 1&2) and the fragility of human life (as manifested by L3) is thematically significance and emotionally resonant, and on second reading, Ls 1&2 successfully carry metaphoric connotations (of Nature as a teacher/inspiration/God). This haiku works effectively on at least two levels, literal and metaphoric.
