Ken
Sawitri was born in Blora, Central Java, Indonesia, and completed her
degree in psychology at the University of Indonesia. She was the
Psychology & Education editor of Ayahbunda (1995-1998). She had the first publication in Indonesian national media when she was in junior high school.
The juxtaposed images of the "'bachelor's' garden" and "ripening 'sugar-apples'" are pregnant with multiple layers of meaning. One of them is that the phrase, "sugar-apples ripen[ing]/along its path" functions more like a prefigurative image that does not represent what exists [a bachelor] but potentially anticipates some features of what will exist[a mature family man]."
