Bio Sketch

Maya Lyubenova is a photographer and writer. Her haiku have appeared in numerous leading haiku journals and won several awards, including WHA Master Haiga Artist (2009), First Prize in the 2nd Bulgarian Haiku Contest (2009), Third Prize in the 17th Kusamakura International Haiku Competition (2012), and Honorable Mention in the 2nd Genjuan International Haibun Contest (2013). Her book, Flecks of Blue, was published in 2010.

  1. Ls 1&2 effectively establish the thematic and emotional context while the pathos is enhanced in the poetic force exerted in the sharp and poignant image in L3.
