A Room of My Own: Attic View of Life Tanka

how do you
put food on the table?

she murmurs ...
her tears come between me
and my attic view of life

Note: I wonder if the following tanka might work better as a sequence, titled A Life in Words?

the garbage bin
overflows with crumpled balls
of paper...
looking out the window
I see winter stars blinking

A Handful of Stones, February 22, 2011

what's the use
of your poetry chapbook?

steam rises
from his mouth
to his glasses

Ribbons, 7:4, Winter 2011

how do you
put food on the table?

she murmurs ...
her tears come between me
and my attic view of life

NeverEnding Story, December 20, 2017

snowy night ...
after the poetry reading
I walk for hours
like a man
with someplace to go

Paper Wasp, 19:4, Summer 2013
