Bio Sketch
Margaret Rutley has poetry published in journals and anthologies in Canada, the US, the UK, and New Zealand. She has won 2nd Place for The Last Resort, a haiku sequence published in Haiku Canada Review and 1st place for a Valentine's Haiku Contest. She is a member of Haiku Canada, the Haiku Society of America, and writes with The Heron's Quill poetry group.
Combined with the effective use of a synecdoche and of the view of the narrator seen from behind, the thematically and emotionally resonant juxtaposition of warm wine and taking off the clothes makes haiku visually and sensually effective.
